Mamamoni was founded as a result of Mamamoni’s founder Okocha Nkem’s experience growing up with a mother who was a widow with no skills to generate income and no access to finance, feeding and going to school was a big challenge for her and her siblings and also because of the level of poor women she saw in her community.
OUR BUSINESS MODEL
Mamamoni makes women who have no means of livelihood productively and diligently engaged by empowering them with different vocational skills to enable them generate income to fend for their families.
Mamamoni trains low-income business women to succeed in their business by teaching them financial and business management skills using our Innovative Business Toolkit for low-incomewomen.
Mamamoni makes her women who do not have access to affordable capital to finance their business banked by registering them for Mobile Money and provides loans to her customers using their mobile accounts.
Okocha Nkem is the founder of Mamamoni; she is very passionate about uplifting poor women from poverty. She has a lot of experience working with low-income women.
She has over 8 years’ experience working in the Nigerian Banking Sector.
She is a Tony Elumelu Entrepreneurship Programme (TEEP) Alumna , a Pioneer Cohort Member of the President Obama’s Young African Leadership Initiative Ghana RLC, a LEAP AFRICA Social Innovator Fellow.
She is the Group Chief Executive Officer of United Capital Plc with an extensive career span of over twenty five years in the Finance Industry. She hasexperience and exposure in the corporate finance, asset management, trust and securities businesses. She is passionate about the sustainable development of the Nigerian Capital market as well as promoting socio-economic development of African nations.
She is the Executive Director of operations at Fosad Consulting, is a Lawyer by profession. Her working career began with the law firm of Adebusoye & Oteniya before moving to the banking sector where she worked with Equity Bank, which later merged with Intercontinental Bank. Her banking career spanned a period of over 13 years working in various roles and rising to manage several departments including Treasury, Business Development and Electronic Banking.
She thereafter had a brief stint in the aviation industry where she pioneered and managed the Customer Service department as the General Manager, Customer Service of the Nigerian Airspace Management Agency.
Okhai joined Fosad Consulting in 2007 as the Lead of the Expatriate and Allied Services department where she was involved in managing a number of high performing clients in the Oil and Gas, Telecoms, Products, Financial, and several other industries in Nigeria. She is currently the Director of Operations in charge of various departments at Fosad Consulting.
